The three monitor video work synchronises images of murals in the King George Secondary School in Honiara with related images from the publication Images and Islands: Grassroots Art of the Solomon Islands (published in 1978, the year of Solomon Island Independence) and alongside footage of artefacts in the Auckland Museum’s Pacific collection. Complex migrations, entangled usage and transformations of traditional motifs are highlighted. The work was exhibited for a Master of Fine Arts at Auckland University, 2012, and included in the exhibition Images and Islands, Mangere Arts Centre, 2013.
